Introduction (:16)
Script (1:05)
The first step we take on this journey is about making the connection. In my culture, the Blackfoot, I make offerings of tobacco and gifts in the ways that I have been taught and this protocol comes first.
Bert offers gifts and says, ‘thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, thank you. And in Blackfoot it's "___".
The significance of following protocols is the same as within other nations. And we honour their ways by learning their protocols.
Bert offers gifts to the other two elders seated in the group and a drum to Chief Adam Dick and says ‘so I've got another gift for you, for that song that you're going to gift."
Chief Adam Dick welcomes us to his territory. (a fire is lit)
